Loves

One thing I love to watch are home makeover shows. I love seeing an old ugly room before and an amazing room after professionals have redone it. It's interesting to me to see all the little tricks and tips that they give while doing it. There's so many little projects that can be done to revamp a room. I also just love seeing really nicely decorated houses. I feel like I can't do it myself, so I like to look at others :). I wish I could have a house with rooms like these, which come from the blog, Desire to Inspire. The first pictures are actually Hotel rooms from The Firmdale Hotels. I know right? I want to go stay in those, actually I want to live in those!

I mean seriously, I haven't been out much because I've never seen hotels like these! Good to know there's some that exist that aren't just brown and maroon floral carpets and bedspreads. Now here are some makeover photos that I enjoyed looking at from Design*Sponge.

I could look at this stuff all day. So don't be surprised if more of my posts are home make-overs, or just rooms that I really like!

The Blind Side

Last night I finally saw The Blind Side and it was really good! Every single person who I know that has seen it has said it's such a good movie, but I didn't really care. Now, I'm so glad that I saw it. It really showed how one small act of kindness can turn into something much bigger. Also, how someone completely uneducated can become educated with the help and effort. It's also just a really cool story and I definitely would recommend it to anyone!

First Entry!

Our first real day in class we talked about our first assignment, and then split into our lab section to do a "warm up" exercise. The directions for both are posted here.

So we had to crumple, fold, or tear any piece of paper in any way we chose and then draw ones that we found most interesting. I had no idea what to do so I just started twirling the paper and came up with a design that I liked. I liked the twisted-ness of the paper and how it looked. So I went from there trying out different angles and tightness of the twists. Then I tried a more relaxed curl in the paper and drew a few like that. These ones really remind me of shells, almost too much. (I didn't really like that). Once I felt like I couldn't get any more creative with curling the paper I just grabbed another piece, folded it and unfolded it. It turned into a shape that I liked, but in the end I went back to twisting the paper. I just like how it has that flower, leafy, fire look to it.
