Valentine's Day

Originally I was super excited for Valentine's Day because I was going to be on a cruise in the middle of the Caribbean with my boyfriend, but ended up staying with some friends in Portland Oregon. I was so thankful that we had people to take us in on such short notice and let us stay so there was no way I could complain.

We started our day by going to church in the morning. Then we all went to lunch at McMinimins on the waterfront in Vancouver, where they live. Cole and I had never been to Ikea so we decided to go after lunch. It was huge! Ikea has every single thing you need for a house. I really liked some of their stuff, but got overwhelmed about 3/4 of the way through it. There's just so much and we couldn't buy anything because we were flying out the next morning. Cole just bought his first house, so he really liked looking at everything. We realized how much he needs after going through there. I really liked some of their kitchens. I like the modern look in the kitchen and they had a lot like that. I feel like I could never have a house that looked like their models, so I like going in and seeing what it would look like. It makes me wish I could have a house that coordinated together like the models. I like a lot of their storage units and shelves also. At the end of the "tour" they have a little eating place and we all got an ice cream cone for a dollar that made it worth it.

We were pretty exhausted by the time we got back and all tried to sleep a little bit before it got close to dinner time. Cole and I tried getting reservations at a few different places, but they were either booked or too expensive. We took advice from our friends and went to a place that was supposed to be really good. It wasn't exactly what I imagined when we walked it. There was live music by an old guy with his guitar singing songs that just annoyed me. Our table happened to be right next to him. After sitting down we found out you have to be 21 to be there and since i'm not 21 we had to move across to the room that was set up for people without reservations. The room didn't even seem part of the restaurant. The food was decent, but I don't know if I would want to go back again. We were a little rushed with dinner because we went to Dear John afterwards. The movie was pretty good, but the company was the best part of the night. Our flight was at 6:00 a.m. so we had to be up at 4 to get to the airport in time. It was off to bed for us and off to Cancun!- It was a great day.
